Game grumps deja vu meme11/30/2023 This leads me to believe that this is an official poster of some sort of theirs. ANd the reason thay was their slogan for so nany years and probably still is was because of after 9/11 they were considered about terrorist attacks and promarily bonbs being legt on the subway do they wanted passengers to be aware of random packages anywhere and to inform someone if theu found one. And the fact thay this has branding on the bottom saying MTA: NEW YORK CITY TRANSIT AUTHORITY is significant because for anyone to use the transit authorities logo and name could constitute a lawsuit probably? Also this is their trademark slogan: IF YOU SEE SOMETHING SAY SOMETHING. And the reason why js because i am a life long new yorker from new york city. This inage messed my head up too even though ive stumbled here by accident. I found this post by accudent while i was looking for something else. So yeah there's my Tuesday night's work for you all, sorry I couldn't find a concrete answer for your question, but I tried! So, without context, I'm still not 100% sure of this image's origin, but I did see an interesting theory from u/s-y-n-t-h and u/GoluckyVessel32 from back in the r/aww thread, they essentially posit that this is street art referring to SCP-184, an SCP which "infinitely duplicates hallways/rooms to the point you go crazy." This certainly lines up with the text of the image, and tbh an SCP just seems like a logical explanation, seeing how both this image and the whole SCP Foundation have ARG vibes. Sadly, there's no comments and their account seems to be inactive, so I wasn't able to ask them where they got the image, and no amount of reverse image searching or typing text into Google allowed me to find an earlier archive of this image, so this post remains, for all intents and purposes, the first "sighting" of this sign. Reverse searching this image brings us to THIS post from the r/nightvale sub, made December 3, 2018, almost two years ago, by u/BokGlass (also yeah this means the "Control" lead is wrong) Posted 7 days ago by u/Alaeriia, this is likely the fullest version of the image we have, showing a decent bit of the surroundings around the image as well, but this is not the original either Sure enough, heading over to that sub and sorting by "Top, This Week", we find this, The image here, posted 5 days ago by u/Lord_Skellig, predates the "original" tweeted by the twitter account, so the obvious question is, where'd he get it from then? Luckily we get a swift answer as, responding to u/ginga_ninja723, Skelling says that he got it from r/LiminalSpace So, after reverse image searching the image tweeted by Millerheighlife (now suspended btw), I found this comment thread on a post fro r/aww: This might get buried, but after doing a little detective work, I think I've solved it Unmasking identity - how to discover the real person behind an email/IP address Missed Connections on Craigslist - long shot way to reconnect with someone in a city Prey - Helps you recover laptop or phone if stolen.
